A call from the JLA Group resulted in a day trip to Brighton for IPS. JLA install and maintain commercial equipment for laundry, catering, heating & fire control. As part of a maintenance programme, JLA were carrying out work in the main boiler room at the Anchor Extra Care home in Brighton.

Patching Lodge is a new generation of housing for older people, comprising of 76 apartments.

The most effective way to remove failed valves servicing the heating and heat interface units in the main boiler room was to freeze 2 x 100mm and 2 x 65mm LTHW pipes. Freezing enabled the faulty valves to be removed and replaced without the need to drain down the whole building.

Not only does this save on water costs but also the time taken to vent all radiators across the property, plus it completely removes the need to disturb residents.

The Operations Manager at JLA commented, “I would definitely use IPS again. The whole process from initial enquiry to finished job was seamless.
