IPS: Supporting Innovation at Citigen
IPS has partnered with Pinnacle MEP, supporting their work in upgrading the Citigen district heating and cooling tri-generation system.
Work was to enable the removal of old, redundant pipework loops and the installation of modified pipework. Our technicians carried out 2 x 300mm and 2 x 350mm freezes, working throughout the day and overnight.
To hold the freezes for 10 hours, we needed a 6,000 ltr tanker of liquid nitrogen. Added to this, access was difficult as the location was under the main road! Luckily, we were able to access site via the neighbouring London Museum.
In all we had 6 technicians attending to carry out the freezes and to weld new flanges in place for the new valves.
